Our Hanwei Raptor Katana, Nambokucho Zukuri is made by Paul Chen. The Nanbochuko period in Japanese history (the later part of the 14th. century) encompassed sixty years of internal conflict in Japan, which spawned a demand for more and bigger sword blades than ever produced previously.

The Hanwei Raptor Katana, Shinogi Zukuri by Paul Chen blade, which has evolved as the most common Japanese katana blade design, provides both speed and cutting power.Featuring a distinct yokote, such blades were originally produced after the Heian period, around 987 AD.

The Hanwei Raptor Katana, Shobu Zukuri is made by Paul Chen. The Raptor Shobu-Zukuri (Iris Leaf) Katana blade has an elegant shape and powerful cutting ability. Notable for the absence of a Yokote transition, this blade design became popular during the Nanbokucho era.
