The Scutum was carried by Roman soldiers from 100 A.D. onward. These large Roman Scutums are linen covered and have a large Brass Boss for hand protection. The core of our Roman Shield is poplar wood and painted.

This square Roman shield boss is constructed from brass and is blackened on the reverse. It is pre-drilled and included with the boss are mounting screws with brass dome caps.

Here is our Roman Situla. Situla, from the Latin for bucket or pail, is a term for a variety of elaborate bucket-shaped vessels from the Iron Age to the Middle Ages, usually with a handle at the top.  

Primarily ornamental, this Roman soldier's belt, called a Cinculum Militaire, was comprised of a studded leather belt with varying numbers of hanging leather strips and sometimes metal rings. Based on one that was popular about 100 A.D, our belt will accommodate up to a size 46 inch waist.
